Artist's Comments

Just got back from a long car trip down to Death Valley. By far, my favorite places were the huge valleys in Nevada. Not the most glorious of trees, but I fell in love with their wild nature, particularly in the evening light (and against the stormy clouds). Sorry I couldn't go beyond the fence in order *not* to include it, but the state trooper waiting by my car was a signal that taking photos by a restricted army depot area (you might see some of the barracks in the distance) was not a good idea....

This is one of many images I'll be posting in the coming days - just wait until I get to the sand dunes in Death Valley!

medium format transparency, Hasselblad, Dec 2005.

Ok...the composition in this is great.. well atleast to me im still learning about it..but from what I know this is set up nicly...i like the fact that you have a sence of depth of field in this... and the way the blue of the background is subtle but... goes in with the picture...very amazing picture.

lvoely photograph- I really like the format of the Hasselbad- excellent composition. I like the way the tree breaks through the horizon so dramatically
